About Us

Breaking Boredom is a platform that provides its Users with ideas on what to eat, drink, read and watch. Our Platform features a randomized activity generator, that suggests ideas across four categories:

To Eat: Indulge in a global collection of savory mains and sweets treats that bring the flavors of the world to your kitchen

To Drink: Craft refreshing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, perfect for sharing with friends or enjoying solo.

To Read: Explore fiction and non-fiction titles,from timeless classics to fresh discoveries that suit both your leisure and self-enrichment needs.

To Watch: Discover the world of films from cult classics and contemporary hits, to documentaries and historical fiction, offering a cinematic journey for every taste.

Our goal is to provide Users with spontaneous inspiration for their free time, to step outside of their daily monotony, try something new, or simply elevate their decision fatigue.

Platform Use & Access

The Platform is available for personal, non-commercial use and may be accessed freely by Users who comply with these Terms. Certain features may require additional conditions, such as age restrictions or future account registration.

When using the Platform, you agree to:

Use it only for personal and lawful purposes.

Respect all applicable laws and regulations while accessing and using the Platform.

Ensure that your use does not interfere with the Platform’s security, functionality, or accessibility for others.

Prohibited Activities:
Users may not engage in the following activities while using the Platform:

Attempting to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform’s operation.

Using automated tools (such as bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to extract data or generate requests.

Submitting false, misleading, offensive, or spam content through the Platform’s Contact Us Page or any other interactive feature.

Breaking Boredom reserves the right to limit or restrict access to any User who engages in prohibited activities or otherwise misuses the Platform.

Intellectual Property

Breaking Boredom owns all intellectual property rights related to the Platform, including its design, branding, structure, and code. All rights not expressly granted to Users under these Terms are reserved.

Breaking Boredom retains ownership of all activity recommendations provided through the Platform. While these suggestions are randomly generated, they originate from a curated database created by Breaking Boredom and its contributors. Users may freely engage with these activities for personal use; however, they may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit the content without explicit permission.

Breaking Boredom provides randomized activity suggestions for entertainment purposes only. We do not guarantee that any suggested activity will be safe, suitable, or appropriate for every user. Users assume full responsibility for determining whether an activity is appropriate for them and ensuring that they comply with all applicable laws, health guidelines, and safety measures.

Age Restrictions & Parental Supervision
The Platform is designed for general audiences, but some suggested activities may reference food, beverages, entertainment, or interactive experiences that require parental discretion. 

General Supervision
Users under 13 should only access the Platform under the supervision of a parent or guardian. 

Alcohol-Related Content
Some activity recommendations may include references to alcoholic beverages (e.g., cocktail-making, mixology). These activities are strictly intended for Users aged 18 and older (or the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction). Users under the legal drinking age must not engage in any alcohol-related suggestions. Breaking Boredom does not promote underage drinking and assumes no responsibility for misuse of its content.

Health & Allergies
Some recommended activities on Breaking Boredom may involve preparing, consuming, or handling foods and beverages. We do not verify the ingredients, nutritional content, or potential allergens in any suggested items or recipes. Users are solely responsible for reviewing their own dietary needs, allergies, or health restrictions before participating in any food- or beverage-related activities. Breaking Boredom does not assume any liability for adverse reactions, injuries, or damages resulting from your reliance on these suggestions.

No Warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Breaking Boredom makes no representations or warranties in relation to the Platform or the information and materials provided herein. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content will be accurate or reliable. Users access and use the Platform at their own risk.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BREAKING BOREDOM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: INJURIES, DAMAGES, OR LOSSES RESULTING FROM FOLLOWING A PLATFORM ACTIVITY SUGGESTION. TECHNICAL ERRORS, BUGS, OR INTERRUPTIONS TO PLATFORM FUNCTIONALITY. CONTENT OR SERVICES PROVIDED BY THIRD PARTIES LINKED THROUGH THE PLATFORM. USERS AGREE THAT THEIR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE PLATFORM IS TO STOP USING THE PLATFORM.

Indemnification

By using the Platform, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Breaking Boredom, its owners, affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, reliance on activity suggestions, or violation of these Terms.

Third-Party Content

The Platform may also contain links to third-party Platforms, advertisements, and services that are not controlled by Breaking Boredom.

We do not own, manage, or verify third-party content.

Breaking Boredom is not responsible for third-party Platform security, accuracy, or availability.

Any transactions, purchases, or disputes with third-party Platforms are between the User and the third party.

 

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any disputes arising from your use of the Platform shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution
Users agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting Breaking Boredom at community@breaking-boredom.com. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration before pursuing legal action. 

Mediation or arbitration shall be conducted by a mutually agreed-upon independent mediator or arbitration service located in the United Kingdom. If the parties cannot agree, mediation or arbitration shall be conducted under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

If arbitration or mediation is not successful, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless another jurisdiction is required by applicable law.

Miscellaneous

Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from these Terms without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Breaking Boredom regarding your use of the Platform and supersede any prior agreements, discussions, or understandings.

No Waiver
Failure by Breaking Boredom to enforce any right or provision in these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver must be made in writing to be legally binding.
